Andy is one of our Korean War Veterans. Serving in the 25th Infantry Division, 35th Regiment, he is pictured below weighing in at 120 pounds in Korea.
Paatriot Donald Kiefer was recently awarded a Distinguished Service Award by the Department of Colorado for his contributions and maintenance of the Department Website.
Ruth Huisenga was honored at the annual George Washington Dinner for fifty-one years of service to our chapter of the Purple Heart including starting and volunteering with bingo every Friday, food prep, cleaning, donations, projects, attending funerals, newsletters, luncheons. She has held the offices of Unit 423 President, Unit Sr. Vice President and Department Patriotic Instructor.

Doug Huisena, son of Duane and Ruth Huisenga, was honored at the George Washington Dinner for his years of service to the chapter. He volunteered to help with bingo for many years and helped with other Purple Heart events.
Wayne Field, a veteran of WWII, was awarded a plaque "For 25 years of outstanding service to our MOPH Chapter and The Department of Colorado" during the chapter's Thanksgiving Dinner.
Patriot Field served as treasurer for Chapter 423 for 25 years and also served as treasurer for the Colorado Department.

Our Senior Vice Commander, Retired Major (USAF) David "Doc" Andrews, has been selected to recieve a Department of Defense Award for Outstanding Department of Defense Employee and Service Member with Disabilities for the year 2015.
"Since 1981,as part of its [the Department of Defense] annual observance of National Disability Employment Awareness Month the Department has presented the Secretary of Defense Awards for Outstanding Department of Defense Employees and Service Members with Disabilities. These awards honor the accomplishments and abilities of employees and Service members with disabilities who have made significant contributions to their Components' missions and best demonstrate the core values of their respective Components. These individuals have been nominated by their Components on the basis of their achievements."
